This American Life : Middle School

This is - as far as I know, in the vast storied history of the Dumpster blog - is the first time I've posted an audio link.

A year and a half ago, the antenna in my car broke.  Coincidentally, it was after I took it in to be serviced and it was up on the hoist.  But it was a bit of a blessing in disguise - I now play podcasts more than the radio in my car.  I prefer the on-demand movement anyhow; isn't this blog proof?

One of my new (to me .. I'm slow) favourites is This American Life.
At the risk of alienating my countrymen and forsaking the Mother Corp - I think I like it even better than The Vinyl Café (although my Ira Glass impersonation isn't as well rehearsed as my Stuart McLean impersonation).

And I'm a middle-school teacher.  So this podcast appealed to me.  I hope you chuckle and relate as well as I did.

Bridge Demolition

No big explosions ... but it makes me want to stop complaining about construction.  This bridge is removed and cars are back on the road in 18 hours.

Slow motions and cinematic music.

And guys jumping off cliffs.  I can't even believe this is real.
